This venue has frequently been named as one of the best in the UK, so I was happy to see that BRMC was going to play there.

I arrived at the venue early enough to see the band doing soundcheck. I couldn’t tell how long they’d been at it, but it was taking quite a long time. I also don’t know what the dialogue was between the guys, but at one point when Robert stepped off stage to discuss a sound problem, Nick followed him and started barking like a dog. …

The most memorable part of the gig for me was when the lights dimmed for Salvation. Just before the song was to start, all the lights went out. When they came back on, spotlights were focused on Nick and Nick alone. As he drummed out the first few lines of the song, I got chills all down my body. It was absolutely brilliant, yet so hard to explain why it touched me in the way it did. Yet, what a way for the show to end! Everytime I’ve seen them since I wait for a repeat of this experience, but it hasn’t happened. This was truly a unique moment and one I’ll remember forever.
